What I Wore: The Cherry On Top

May 10, 2011 | by Fajr | What I Wore | 10 Comments

“I do it for the joy it brings, cause I’m a joyful girl. ‘Cause the world owes us nothing, we owe each other the world.” ~ Ani DiFranco

I recently purchased a new laptop and stopped carrying my work one around with me everywhere like a dog on a leash. Who knew that one singular purchase would lift a huge weight, literally and figuratively, off my shoulders and bring back a lightness I hadn’t felt in a long while.

Some thing so simple has bought me such joy and made me realize that we owe it to ourselves to find joy in any and every thing. Life is short and full of amazing people, laughs with great friends and cool experiences to be had. Things like a new laptop or cute sweater are just the cherry on top of life’s great sundae!

My joy lately has been a deliberate commitment to focus on the positive. I am working hard to stay in the moment and to share my gratitude. Lately it’s been coming from the walks around my neighborhood where spring is in full bloom, and I’m thankful to live where walking is safe and the nature around me, although urban, is still beautiful.

That sounds divine Bella! And I couldn’t agree more, positivity is deliberate effort, but when we look around us there is so much to be grateful for!

Ooooh I need those earrings in my life..well I don’t need them but they’d make me quite joyful haha. I love this outfit! I just realized, I really hate most modern denim skirts..but this one is soooo adorable. is the bees knees! :)

Ah things that bring me joy…my sweetheart being number one, we have soo much fun together, she’s just an amazing person. I hate to go from a person to a shoe but wedges! They’re so forgiving on my ankles (unless I have to stand for 4 hours) and they’re retro so that’s a nice bonus.

You do NEED these earrings! Haha.. Wedges are amazing aren’t they? I love stilettos but wedges will always have a special place in my heart!

      Thanks for the comment gal!

Cute, cute, cute! This feels so 70s…I love it. OK, and it’s cute without being cutesy. I mean cute in the best way possible!

Congrats on the new laptop. I feel the same way about my iPad 2. Now I I can sit on the sofa with Hubby and flick through blogs while he watches TV (it almost qualifies as not blogging since it’s not my big laptop)!
