What I Wore: Sunday’s Best

January 24, 2011 | by Fajr | Life of Ms. Thought, What I Wore | 15 Comments

“I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls.” – Audrey Hepburn

I live for good music. You know, singers with versatile vocal ranges, crystal clear pitch and insightful lyrics. Chrisette Michele fits the bill and when she came to Philly, my gals and I hopped at the chance to see her. Her latest album “Let Freedom Reign” has been on repeat and is full of empowering anthems for women looking for love and finding it within themselves. Her performance was so on point and her voice live sounds exactly like on the album!

Because I love any excuse to get dolled up, I had to show Ms. Michele my Sunday’s Best. Sure I may have been a bit overdressed to sit in a theater hall, but that’s part of the fun of fashion! This thrifted leopard blazer is becoming one of my favorite pieces to wear and after 3 years of shoe lust the Sam Edelman’s are mine!

The Deets:

American Apparel Bodysuit
Vintage Skirt with Pink Tulle
Vintage Leopard Blazer
Vintage Faux Pearl Necklace
Sam Edelman Zoyla Boots – from J. Karma Boutique

I knew there was a reason I adored Audrey Hepburn. You look perfect for going to a concert, at least in my book!

I thought so too, but the other concert-goers had on jeans and sneakers… #kanyeshrug

Love, love those Sam Eldelman booties. I own the exact same pair and they look great with everything from shirts, to dresses and jeans and a blazer! They’re quite comfy as well! :-)

I like the trendy shoes with everything else being higher in standard. It simplifies the outfit and doesn’t make it seem like a period piece. That jacket is verily outstanding Fajr.
