Style Theme: Letting Go

September 26, 2011 | by Fajr | Personal Style, What I Wore | 10 Comments

So, I’mma let it go. Gonna leave my worries behind. Gotta take control. I just came to have a good time! ~ Janelle Monae

The Style Theme: Letting Go

Life is pretty funny, isn’t it? Just when we think we have it all figured out, something comes along and shows us that just maybe we don’t know a thing!  When that happens sometimes you just have to fall back and let life happen instead of forcing its hand. Take a chill pill, let your hair down and get up and out!

For me letting loose means letting my hair down, kicking off my shoes, tying my shirt up and having a great time with the great people in my life. While this outfit isn’t particularly style shattering, it is an outward manifestation of my current state of mind; carefree, easy and letting go!  I hope everyone got a chance to let loose and do something carefree this weekend!

Love, love, LOVE those polka dot pants! Very easy breezy but stylish at the same time.

Sometimes you do have to let go and ride the wave of life sometimes and really enjoy the ride without totally freaking out (and now if I can just take my own advice I’d be golden! LOL)

Fajr!!!! I need you to go on and pack those pants right up and ship them to me… ASAP! The are SOOOO CUTE!

I actually do think this outfit is pretty style shattering. The pants are fabulous and a tied up red shirt is so effortlessly chic. Style doesn’t have to be elaborate or complicated. It just has to tell your story.

I agree with Eboni, this outfit is style shattering!! I am now longing for those pants, and there is no H&M nearby.

What I love most about this post is the inportance of letting loose and taking on life. LOVE IT!!

Loving this look Fajr! How do I let go in fashion? By focusing less on following trends and more on feeling good.

Great idea on having a time on just being carefree. It has been too long and I think I have forgotten how it felt. I like your outfit and I think they are very stylish as well as trendy. You look so pretty in them. Thank you for the great advice.
