This past Saturday, I decided to take a trip to New York to visit the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show. I’ve been on the mailing list for years and I’ve always planned to go, but could never seem to make it happen. Well, not even torrential rain (it was pouring the entire day) could stop me and a few friends and I made the 2 hour trek to oogle, fondle and peruse the vintage treasures on display at the show.

And great thing we went because the trip was well worth it! The exhibitors were hardcore vintage dealers with everything from designer Chanel from the 70s and 80s to authentic 1920s flapper dresses, cloche hats and Victorian boots. There were impressive treasures and exquisite garments at every turn. I was awestruck by the highly curated collections and wanted every piece in my wardrobe!

Some of the impressive exhibitors included:
Lofty Vintage
Post Script Couture
Another Man’s Treasure
What Goes Around Comes Around
Extinct Optics

Oh, BABY. I would have gone crazy at that fair, especially with the ’50s and ’70s stuff! Did you buy anything?
I was having a field day, taking it all in. I didn’t buy anything because the prices were far from affordable, but just being that close to real vintage was intoxicating!
One day when we’re rich and successful, we’ll go to this and have our fill of all the vintage we’d like. Until then, I’m going to scroll back up and ogle those cat eye glasses.
My thoughts exactly! I was in there looking at the prices like 0_0! One day when I have a rich aging husband I’ll own every garment at the show!
I would love to fall in love with vintage but it is not embraced where I am located or maybe I am not “skilled” in the search for all things vintage. I loved this post & your pics are so vivid. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!
Thanks Nicole, you certainly don’t have to be skilled just have a passion for all thing old…
Thanks for the comment!

That looks so exciting! I’ve been to vintage markets in DC and Toronto, but I know NY is where the action is!
