Music Meets Fashion: Paloma Faith

October 4, 2010 | by Fajr | Music, Personal Interests | 10 Comments

The Brits have mastered the delicate mix of fashion and music since The Beetles proudly wore shags and sung about holding hands. The young female UK sensation, Paloma Faith has taken a cue from her musical predecessors and is seamlessly mixing her bluesy vocals with a quirky and  vintage-inspired style.

Paloma’s distinct and theatrical style is a mash up of 40′s Hollywood siren, lady sings the blues jazz singer and over the top performance artist. She effortlessly pairs red lips and Victory rolls with sequin jumpsuits and extravagant feathered headpieces. She’s a member of the Neo-Pinup crew, complete with lady-like presence and tattoos. You know I love all things PINUP and VINTAGE so I’m helplessly in love with this girl, she’s taken the spot as my new style idol. I will be stalking her from here on out!

Does anyone else think she looks like Diane Court from Say Anything in the second picture?

I admire her style and think it looks great, but I could never pull off an entirely retro look. I’d get bored after a while.

I would love to be full on vintage vamp as my daily style, it definitely takes guts! Thanks for the comment Melissa!

Oh, and I don’t think I mentioned how much I adore your blog, I love the theme, the colors, and most of all, the content :)

Thanks Ioana, I thought the same thing about her. Her voice is so deep and her style is off the charts!

Paloma Faith is elegantly retro and vintage I should say. Not everyone can pull off that look. Her character and physical attributes all build up her stylish eclectic 40′s look. I would love to look like this everyday but pulling it off like Paloma, that I’m not sure. Thanks for sharing her pictures.
