Peep-toe Boots and other Schizophrenic footwear

October 3, 2010 | by Fajr | Personal Style, Shoes | 11 Comments

High/Low. Vintage/Modern. Plaids/Stripes. Fashion is about the mixing of opposites and making a season last for just a little while longer. While we’re all ready for Fall boot weather, I’m still holding on to the last few opportunities to wear my sandals. Luckily, the fashion GAWDS have answered my prayer with the best of both worlds: PEEP-TOE BOOTIES.

For style schizophrenics like me who want the look of a boot but are holding onto that last pedicure, peep-toe booties were made. And when the weather finally decides to give way you can pair them with tights to keep the Peep-toe PARTY going! OWWWWW! Great with skinny trousers, skirts and dresses and come in a variety of styles from Tough with grommets and studs to Victorian with lacing detailing.

{From Left to Right: Jessica Simpson / Betsey Johnson / Steve Madden / ASOS / Rock & Republic / Two Lips Minx / Pour La Victoire}

Will you be strutting in this “style schizo” trend?

    I can only do them with tights. My feet are always so cold! But those Rock & Republic booties are calling my name!

      I know right. Part of me feels its foolish to wear a boot with your toes out, but they look so fierce!

    Hmmm, I love booties and I love peep-toe shoes, but I can’t wrap my head around the two of them together! It reminds me of the Uggs and shorts combo, just kinda weird! They are cute, but I won’t be rocking these this fall.

    BTW, love the blog, found you on IFB blog spotlight!

      LOL, love the uggs/mini skirt reference! It’s like the purpose of boots is to stay warm and the peep toe is the total opposite! Thanks for the comment!

    I LOVE peep-toe booties! I have at least 5 pair that are on heavy rotation. What I love most about them is that you can wear them all-year round. I have a pair of suede ones that I only wear in fall/winter, but the leather ones are cute with a full skirt or loose-fitted shorts. Lace-up peep-toe booties are my favorite : )

      The lace ones always remind of the Victorian era which I love. Thanks for the comment!

    I hate them. I don’t think they are cute, they really do not make sense to me. I will NOT be spending money on the trend.
