Shop Girl: nOir Jewelry

August 18, 2010 | by Fajr | Jewelry, Personal Style | 13 Comments

I like my jewelry like I like my coffee: strong, full of flavor and takes the edge off.  Noir Jewelry has the kick I love, not to mention the celeb-wearing credentials (my faves Kelis and Rihanna has been spotted in Noir). Designer and owner Leeora Catala, who has done the do at Ralph Lauren and Oscar De La Renta, launched Noir 14 years ago and it has become known for its cheeky and street style influence infused with glamour.

What do you think of Noir’s strong and tribal influenced pieces?

I’m a HUGE nOir fan… but less the tribal pieces and more the metal, punk, glam side she does… the pyramid rings, the animal rings, the studs and spikes…. I collect ALL of those..

Ohh, I remember seeing one of those rings on Rihanna and thought it was super cute. I am in love with this jewelry, especially the spiked ring. This is definitely going into my bookmarks!

Kelis wore the first necklace recently and I fell in love with her pieces! Thanks for the comment Sheena!

I’ve had a crush on Noir pieces for a while. I really like the tribal inspired pieces, especially the brightly colored earrings. However, I can’t help but feel that buying authentic pieces is a better idea. Or better yet, stealing them from your mom’s jewelry collection.

I feel you. Like why not support the actual African artist and exporters. There’s this amazing stand at the Reading Terminal in Philly that sells similar pieces.

I am LOVING these! I love strong stand out jewelry myself and I’m always on the tribal train as long as it doesn’t look cheesy!

    Thanks for sharing these!

Tribal can definitely go borderline costumey and cheesy. Thanks for the comment!
