Life of Ms. Thought: 10.12.09
12 Oct
My laptop, or affectionately known as “Lappie” has been repaired (broken LCD screen… long story) and I feel like I’m back to my old blogging self. Work has me a bit tired and burnt out, so I’ve been working on my other projects to get that old thang back… you know passion for working and creating new things…
This weekend a good gal friend of mine and I explored the city and went to a few fashion events, all great experiences with creative art and people. Oh and I finally saw the September Issue, simply divine and insightful, reminded why I feel in love with Vogue in the first place.

The September (in October) Issue: It’s hard to put into words what American Vogue has meant to me (I’ll take a stab at it in a later post) and watching The September Issue reminded me of all the glamour and fantasy that Vogue stands for. It also showed the hard work and dedication Anna Wintour gives to “her” magazine. She’s simply spellbounding! And Grace, oh Grace Coddington is my kind of lady, ballsy and not afraid to speak her mind!

Drawing Inspiration: After hanging with Wintour and the gang, we headed over to the Sanctuary, an amazing and artistic space for the Society HAE event full of vendors, artists displaying their pieces and delicious vegetarian food. The vibe was cool with DJs spinning and a female artist painting in the middle of it all.

Stumbleupon Store: I love finding stores in Philly that I had no idea existed. It’s like a treasure hunt and stumbling upon Moxie Jane in The Piazza was definitely full of treasures. Vintage clothing, sequins headbands and customized Chuck Taylors all make Moxie Jane a store I’ll frequent. I’ll post more pictures from this amazing store soon.

SoReFa Fashion Show: Our timing couldn’t have been better as we ended up at North Bowl exactly as the So Re Fa Socially Responsible Fashion Show hosted by Arcadia boutique started. I wasn’t able to get quality pictures of the runway, but got a picture of these coats made from recycled camping gear. Very ingenious!
All in all I had an amazing weekend filled with scoping out new fashion in Philadelphia and enjoying all the city has to offer. How was your weekend?

Sounds like you had a great weekend!
Mine was amazing. AMAZING. I actually got out of the house, went to about four events, hung out with some of my blogger lovies and loved every minute of it.
LOVED the September Issue, by the way.
Oh, and your necklace is going out tomorrow…freakin’ federal holidays are stifling my shipping schedule. =P
