By now you have heard the news of the death of Amy Winehouse on Saturday, July 23, 2011. While there are no real words to express the grief and pain felt around the world, it suffices to say that Amy Winehouse will be missed. At 27, she was a young woman, a powerhouse full of angst and unsurmountable talent. A ray of light that had yet to discover its true beauty and power to illuminate our darkness through her songs.
While we can dwell on her struggles and her raw, exposed pain, let’s focus on her beauty and nerve to be herself. Amy was a beehive wearing, black eyeliner, soul sister in a sea of blonde pop stars. Every lyric, every note trembled with the heart of a woman who by striving to be herself, liberated others and exposed the weakness in all of us.
It is in her passing, that we can learn to remove the chains that are holding us back and remember Amy for the music that will live on through her.

great post….she’ll be sorely missed, what a great talent.
Yeah, she was a tremendous talent and music is truly feeling the void.
I adore Amy Winehouse for her precious contribution to the music industry. It’s so hard to accept that she’s gone, but one thing is for sure, Amy will always be remembered and will forever remain in my heart. A beautiful woman with a great talent. In behalf of everyone, we love you and we miss you Amy Winehouse!
So true Sabrina. Thanks for the lovely words.
