What Beyonce Taught me about Success

September 20, 2011 | by Fajr | Career, Life, Life Advice | 9 Comments

It’s no secret that I love Beyonce. While some people lament her commercialism and overt sex appeal, Beyonce inspires me because of her dedication, passion for her craft and seemingly endless energy and hard work. Have no doubt about it, the woman gives her ALL! She’s is a Virgo so I would expect nothing less! ;)

Beyonce has managed to do what many are striving for: create a phenomenal career, solidify herself in the history books and discover the secret to the elusive work/life balance. Through her journey, Beyonce has taught me a few things about being a working woman, striving for success and balancing it all.

“You gotta work it out” ~ Work it Out

Beyonce lives to entertain and is often quoted saying that she truly loves what she does. It is her intense passion that fuels her to work non-stop, tour the world, produce 4 best selling solo albums, win 16 Grammys and be recognized as one of the top female recording artists of our time. The lady knows the power of hard work!

“Since fifteen in my stilettos been struttin’ in this game” ~ Diva

Since the wee age of seven, Beyonce has been singing and performing and she hasn’t stopped since! While we all may not know our calling as early as Queen B did, we can start today to discover it. Age (whether old or young) should never be a limitation and starting early just ensures you’ll see success sooner.

“You must not know ’bout me. You must not know ’bout me”~ Irreplaceable

Confidence goes a long way! Part of Beyonce’s appeal is that she is the consummate confident woman! She owns her power and celebrates all that she has done to get to where she is. She doesn’t dim her light and she sings proudly proclaiming just how great she is!

“You’ve Got Me Speechless” ~ Speechless

When it comes to anything other than her career, Beyonce is often speecheless. Even in light of her pregnancy relevation, Beyonce still keeps the media juggernaut focused on her immense talent and not the inner workings of her life. She’s managed to stay shrouded in mystery while still revealing bits and pieces of herself. She keeps the main attention on her work and talent.

“It’s very seldom that you’re blessed to find your equal” ~ Upgrade U

Beyonce is one half of a powerhouse and while her fame seems to surpass that of her husband’s, they always appear as a united front. She has the support of her husband and family that keep her going. Her father quit his job to dedicate his time to her career. Talk about support!  As the famous saying goes: “Success is nothing without someone you love to share it with.”

“The hearts I have touched, will be the proof that I leave” ~ I Was Here

Beyonce is a true inspiration to millions of people. Her work ethic, drive and love for performing has touched so many lives and pushed others to go after their dreams. True success is nothing without using it to inspire and do good in the world.

Here’s a few empowering videos of Beyonce on her success & work ethic

What do you think of Beyonce’s career and work ethic?  What has Queen B taught you?

OMG I agree with all you have written. she has mapped out her life and worked hard to achieve her goals right down to her pregnancy. she is an excellent role model on hard work and success…I don’t understand all the hate. If you don’t like her music I totally understand but to dismiss her as a hack is crazy.

LOLWUT. that bitch only makes one album every two years (boa makes two albums a year) and can only speak one language (boA records each of her albums in three) and has never been hospitalized from exhaustion. Beyonce hard working? don’t make me laugh:http://www.myspace.com/soojinyeh/blog/544300205
