“Be guided absolutely and entirely by the vision of calmness and not by the shadows of anxiety. The hour of calmness is the hour of illumination and correct judgment” ~ James Allen
Our happiness depends on the habit of mind we cultivate. Inner peace is the state of being mentally and spiritually at peace with enough knowledge and an understanding to keep ones self strong in the face of discord or stress.
Although considered a healthy state of existence by many, inner peace is seldom obtained by those of us that live in a culture of high productivity and pressure. How often do you find yourself stressed? Chances are, the answer is frequently. Most times we find ourselves stressing about things in the past or things that haven’t even happened yet. Although normal, this practice is completely unhealthy and robs us of the time we could be spending engulfed in the wonderful beauty of life.
The first step to obtaining inner peace is to “Slow Down” and Unload Emotional Baggage. We are all guilty of walking around with what we believe to be a “permanent” indentation of our past pains and experiences. This could be from a break up, guilt from past mistakes, being victimized or even distorted beliefs. But here is the cool thing…..Everyone can Heal, Grow and Change! Knowing this is the first step to internal power! (You Can do it!)
Next, you must Let go of Control, this might be the scariest of all the steps but is the most powerful. When you are able to accept those items in life that are out of your control, stress levels decrease significantly. Follow this step with Meditation/Relaxation. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, you deserve it. Set aside one hour each day to do something you enjoy (i.e reading a book, dancing, or a hot bath) anything that will allow you to mentally take time off from this crazy world! The ultimate goal self-acceptance, appreciation, and the location of mental silence.
Imagine how great it would be to stay calm, focused and undisturbed by circumstances or people! Move forward. Set obtainable goals, repeat positive affirmations to your self and remember that things could always be worst. You are powerful beyond your own understanding. It is time to tap into the peace inside, as that’s where sanity lays.

Just looking at this sketch of Sade makes me relax, love it. Great post.
A lot of mornings I wake up angry/ grumpt/sad. I’m not sure why but I leave the house not in a good mood. I am pretty good with recognizing and ackownledging when I am not in a good mood and that I do not want it to sprad to my surround enviornment (whereever I am). So I tell myself my the time I get out of car to go into work I must be in a better mood. I talk to myself, I talk to God asking for the power to change my negative energy. Every morning I MUST listen to Gospel music. It is the only thing that works every single morning, and by the time my 30 minute commute to work I feel muuuuch better!!!!!! Now if I get upset during the day at work, now that different story, I’m still working on that solution.
