A blog is both a showcase and an outlet, and it's wise to treat it as such. I think I'll check out those sites. Another thing I'd suggest is applying to be a local examiner at examiner.com. It's not guaranteed $$, but if you know how to promote yourself apparently you can earn a bit of cash. This is great advice!
