Who are you?
My name is Treacle, I’m 27 years old from Atlanta, GA though I currently live in Seattle, WA
What do you do?
As of September 2nd, 2011 I’m a full time blogger at The Lingerie Addict and digital media consultant for the lingerie industry. Before then, I was a crisis counselor and worked with survivors of domestic violence, child abuse victims, and family members of homicide victims.
What dreams are you working toward?
Oh gosh, there are so many! I feel like the big 3 are:
1) Developing The Lingerie Addict into the #1 online resource for anything and everything lingerie related, whether that’s shopping advice, product reviews, critical commentary on the industry, or fun, light-hearted pieces about intimates.
2) Convincing/reminding the rest of the fashion industry that lingerie is fashion too. It has trends, styles, seasons, icons and so on and it should be treated with the same kind of seriousness (and scrutiny!) that mainstream fashion gets.
3) Spreading what I call the ‘gospel of lingerie’ to women everywhere. I firmly believe that women of every shape, size, color, and income deserve gorgeous, breath-taking lingerie that makes them feel like the beautiful people they already are and I’m not sure that’s a message that really gets put out there enough.

What motivates you to succeed?
I’m motivated by the belief that I have a message to share that’s worth hearing. When I get e-mails from readers that tell me how my blog has changed their life, it’s a tremendous motivation to keep doing what I’m doing.
What has been your biggest obstacle?
I think my biggest obstacle has also been my biggest strength. I’ve always been very open about my status as an industry outsider. I don’t come from the world of lingerie. And while that’s been an asset in that I talk about lingerie from a brand new perspective, it can also be a hindrance in that there’s a lot of technical knowledge and background knowledge that I don’t have. But I believe the solution to that is to just keep learning and to keep an open mind.
What advice would you give other women?
It’s okay to be competitive. It’s okay to be controversial. And it’s okay to make mistakes.
