Stylish Thoughts with… is a charming Inner View series that styles and profiles sartorial savants, fearless fashion mavens and interesting stylesetters the internet (and world) over. This isn’t your momma’s Q&A!
Once in the blue a style light beams from the fashion blogosphere so bright it blinds you and makes you powerless to any other forces (blogs) out there. Marie from Agent Lover is one such style force not to be reckoned with (RIE-RIE ain’t nothin’ to play with). When I e-stumbled upon Marie’s blog AgentLover.com nearly 2 years ago my Ladyboner was on full alert and hasn’t gone down since. One glance at her blog and you’re hooked on Marie’s off the wall humor, bangs of perfection and undying obsession love for John Stamos. And she has a paper doll in her likeness, HAWT! Naturally, I had to delve deeper into the stylistic musings of this resident mistress of F-U-N (and funny) style.
What’s your day job? Girl Friday
Where do you reside? So Cal BAYBEE
Describe your style in two words?
In Big O style, name 5 famous people, dead or alive, who would be on the guest list for your 50th birthday bash?
Anton LaVey, Richard Simmons, Mae West, Dorothy Parker, and of course John Stamos.
What is your most memorable fashion moment?
Walking around in a corn suit and high heels at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown LA. I mean, it’s only natural.
If you had to only wear one type of footwear for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
POLLYS!!!! They were a poolside stiletto that originated in the 60′s from Polly of California and are now sold by Betsey Johnson and Patricia Field. The sexiest most comfortable shoe of my life! My girlfriends and I love them!
What designer is your Fairy Style Mother and why?
Probably Betsey Johnson! She’s like the Hello Kitty of designers: Ultra-girly and always fun.
Target or Walmart?
Target! It’s my GIRLCRACK! They better clear up their recent drama though!
What’s your best personality trait? Your worst?
WELL… where do I begin!? JK! (o)(o) I guess the ability to see the humor in everything? It has helped me get through a lot of shit that’s for sure! Worst: I have too many ideas, too many plans and only have two hands and the mortal need for sleep.
What would be the title of your Made for TV Lifetime movie?
Bangs, Boobs and Red Lipstick: How One Girl Charmed The Pants Off The Internet
Where do you get your fly gear from (online or brick-and-mortar)?
Solestruck, Fred Flare, AMICLUB, Betsey Johnson, Remix Vintage, H&M, and for inexpensive cute trendy dresses I go to SoCal chola stores!!! Then of course the Fairfax Flea, Iguana Vintage, American Vintage and ebay for all my vintage goodies. BTW I will be selling some cute vintage online soon! Keep your eyes peeled!
What 90s TV character influenced your style the most?
You know, I’ve actually been more influenced by 90′s film. I had the same sheer blouse, baby blue argyle vest, skirt and knee high combo that Cher wore for her driving test in Clueless, sported grandpa plaid pants and ringer tees like Ethan Embry’s character in Empire Records, mimicked Drew Barrymore’s Docs and slip dresses in Mad Love, carried vintage lunchboxes like Janeane Garafolo in Reality Bites and of course there was my Nancy from The Craft days…I’m still heavily influenced by all of those films today!
