Coming out of the Closet

I have a confession. I don’t have a proper closet. (I know, what kind of monster am I) I have a garment rack that is sagging under the weight of my multitude of dresses and most of the non-hanging pieces either make the chest of drawers (or more like the floor).  Any fashionista (do people still use that word or is it taboo like saying fo’shizzle) worth her weight in Manolos knows that a good closet design breeds a holistic wardrobe and an ease of dressing that a floor (hmmm) simply doesn’t provide.

To rectify my wardrobe malfunction (nipple ring not included) I’m trekking to Ikea  and playing a rousing game of “That’s my closet”. But to ease myself in, I’m drooling over these worship worthy wardrobes. Sure I don’t have 300+ pairs of shoes to display but a girl can dream.

How do you organize and display your stylish wears?

I currently have an ikea wardrobe, an antique wardrobe and secretary and an ikea chest of drawers. It’s a very, very odd system, but it works…somehow. LOL

    Good luck at ikea.

No matter where I move, I always end up with a tiny closet. Ikea can be a lifesaver!

I am a horrible mess with my clothes. All of my dresses are hung on wooden hangers in my closet. SOme shoes are in shoe boxes…other all over the floor. I have a dresser with clothes in it that need to be hung up. I’ma mess. I definitely need an organized closet.

@ Renee: All my apartments have had minimal closet space, so i’m no stranger to Ikea, though I always leave with more than I went there for!
@ Naimah: Me too! I’m trying to be better, hence all the closet lust!

I share my closet with my hubby and it’s an ok size but I love organization!!! Everything is color coded and organized by sweaters, pants, shirts, prints, dresses, skirts and vests. My shoes are neatly consuming the entire closet floor but I am going to get a rack for them soon or book shelves. I have a plastic 5-drawer dresser sort of thing that I keep organized with shoe box lids that are durable (coach, Cole haan….) I use those to separate my jewelry (earring,shades,necklaces/bracelets) all organized in one drawer. Another for belts that I curl up and use rubber bands to keep them curled!! The closets above are to die for!! Good luck with you closet :)
