Cocktails with Carmelita Couture

May 24, 2011 | by Fajr | Designers, Fashion, Personal Style, Philadelphia Fashion | 9 Comments

There are few things I enjoy more than a cool cocktail party and beautifully designed clothes. Combine the two and I am in a world of sheer delight! On a rainy Friday, my friend Curran from Kingsruletogether.com and I went to the house of designer Carmelita Martell to preview her 2012 Resort Line for her clothing line Carmelita Couture.

Imagine a beautiful house, kitschy art, delectable desserts (seriously I couldn’t pull myself away from the table), elaborate hats and one of a kind couture designs. Carmelita Couture is made especially for a woman with a strong sense of self and is not a wallflower. It was a great evening with stylish friends and some wicked hats and dresses.

those hats are amazing! i’m always drawn to pretty hats; i love the southern tradition of hats (and the british tradition as well). i wish i had more opportunities to wear them. they look so lovely and really make an outfit pop!

All those hats make me wish I had gone to the Kentucky Derby, and that last dress reminds me of Mary Kate. Love!
