10 Online Shops To Visit When Forever 21 Just Won’t Do

June 25, 2012 | by Fajr Muhammad | Fashion, Personal Style | 3 Comments

Sometimes, hitting the mall and the tried & true stores gets a bit stale. Not that you don’t enjoy your F21 deals, but if you see another girl with the same Aztec print dress, you’ll scream. We know the feeling.

So what’s a gal to do when her regular stores won’t do. Shake up her shopping spots, that’s what! Mix up where you spend your hard-earned cash and try out a new online boutique. A little weary? Well we have ten online shops with great quality pieces, great deals and unique styles you won’t see on anyone else.

1. Refinery 29 Reserve

Refinery 29 is known for its amazing coverage of the fashion scene. They cover indie & mainstream fashion seamlessly and in their Reserve store they offer amazing sales and discounts on both. Buy shopping credits to indie designers like Lauren Moffat, Tucker and Jay Goddfrey.

2. Modcloth

Modcloth is the sweet girl’s style haven. With the click of a button you can score adorable dresses, Irregular Choice shoes and delightful housewares. A long time favorite, Modcloth has redefined online shopping with great customer service and a welcoming style community.

3. Etsy

Really want to support independent designers and find one of a kind pieces. Etsy is your one-stop shop for all things handmade. With millions of sellers there is something for everyone, from handcrafted dresses to secondhand vintage. Beware, scouring Etsy can have you down a rabbit hole of unique store after unique store.

3. ASOS Marketplace

ASOS has become synonymous with great fashion from across the pond. And is pretty ubiquitous if you’re an online shopper. But the ASOS Marketplace is a lesser known section featuring indie designers and vintage sellers.

4. Les Nouvelles

A little higher end, Les Nouvelles carries great brands like Mara Hoffman, Karen Walker and more. Fresh and contemporary, Les Nouvelles will have you stalking (and salivating) over designers and accessories.

5. Bona Drag

Gypsies, tramps and thieves. If you’re channeling Stevie Nicks, then Bona Drag is the shop for you. With Pamela Love jewelry, Rachel Antonoff jumpsuits and more Jeffrey Campbells than a fashion bloggers wardrobe, Bona Drag is a must-go for more obscure style.

6. Unique Vintage

Retro girls unite! Unique Vintage has your throwback styles by the boatload. An aggregator of sorts, UV carries popular retro lines like Stop Staring,  Queen of Heartz and Bernie Dexter and has everything from swimsuits to prom dresses.

7. Karmaloop

Street chic and urban fashion combine on Karmaloop.com. Home to many indie streetwear brands, Karmaloop also has something for the ladies. From cool leggings to edgy t-shirt lines, Karmaloop carries well-known lines like Stussy, Married to the Mob and Melody Eshani.

8. EBay

If you’re an avid online shopper, Ebay is old hat. But with new sites popping up left and right, it’s easy to forget about the gem of Ebay. Find everything from vintage Marigela (for a hefty price) to the latest vintage-meets-trend.

9. Revolve Clothing

Revolve Clothing is a hip girl’s playground. With a great mashup of established and indie brands, Revolve has everything your closet needs in an organized and sleek interface.

10. Shopbop

Shopbop is clean and classic, much like the easy, breezy clothing they sell. Carrying labels such as A.P.C., Marc Jacobs and JBrand, Shopbop has an effortless cool that will have you hooked.

Dorothy Perkins is my go to. Every time I wear something I acquired from DP, I get loads of compliments. From strangers even!
