Card Carrying Member of the Ladies Who Love Bangs Brigade

April 24, 2011 | by Fajr | Beauty | 12 Comments

{She Bangs! She Bangs!}

Bangs don’t make the woman…. the woman makes the bangs. Remember when I waxed poetic about having a serious case of hair envy? Well instead of sitting on the sidelines of the awesome hair parade, I decided to jump in (or was pushed by my good friend Alicia) and CUT MY BANGS!

Well after a week of my new found hairstyle…. I am a full-fledged convert to the Ladies Who Love Bangs Brigade! I LOVE THEM! The effortless cool, how I can wear a ponytail & still have a sleek style, the way I can secretly peek at people from behind my fringe!  I haven’t loved a hairstyle this much since I cut off all of my perm and rocked an afro for 6 months!

BANG-SPIRATION!

Here are some fringed femmes who inspired the chop.

10 Members of the Ladies Who Love Bang Brigade

  1. Bettie Page (Founding Member )
  2. Zooey Deschanel (President & CEO)
  3. Brigitte Bardot (Sexy Sideswept)
  4. Nicki Minaj (Wiggy Bangs)
  5. Rihanna (Good Girl Gone Bad Era)
  6. Reese Witherspoon (New Convert)
  7. Elvira (Goth Bangs)
  8. Katy Perry/Dita Von Teese (Retro Fringe)
  9. Marie (Blogger Bangs)
  10. Suzanne Somers (70s Bangs)

And Now A Lil Math: How to Achieve Perfect Bangs

{Haha! I love this!}

Are you a lady who loves bangs? Have you cut your fringe and lived to talk about it?

    I love bangs!! I usually cut mine in the winter (as they are easier to manage) and let them grow out in the summer. They make my eyes stand out, especially when I make them up all pretty!

      I’m getting used to them and I’m in love too! I think I may cut them shorter to spice things up! Thanks for the comment!

    Oh bangs! Well, first of all they look great on you. I always go back and forth on bangs. Love the look, hate having to fuss with them all the time. Especially when I’m going to the gym frequently and need to wash my hair more often.

    I’m totally a member, too! It’s a great club to be a part of, imo! I love that Zooey D. ratio illustration. It’s kinda spot on!

    I just grew out my bangs because I fancied a change but I have to admit I miss them and will absolutely have them cut back in at some point!

    Zooey was a big inspiration in me going for the chop too!

    Yours look great by the way ^_^

    I, too, am a member of the bang brigade. I cut mine in February and have been in love since. I’m thinking about growing them out for the summer just for something different but i’m not sure because i just love the way it shapes my face :-)

    You look so cute! I remember cutting my bangs (myself! with craft scissors!) in college, which completely scandalized my roommate. I still love the look!
