Sole Search: Brogues and More Brogues
28 Jul
I’m definitely a heels girl (the higher the heel, the closer to God) but flats are downright necessary as there’s nothing worse than a woman in heels wobbling like the hunchback of Notre Dame from sore feet. So this season’s flats, brogues and oxfords in particular, are my must have shoe for fall.
They meet that style/comfort dichotomy perfectly and the current colors add a touch of femininity to a masculine shoe. Plus, anything with an Annie Hall vibe is on my radar.

I’ve got my eye on the Steve Madden black & white brogues and the stunning color of the Topshop Kameryn shoes is perfect for a pop of color. From hot pink to metallics make this masculine shoe is perfect to pair with dresses as well as skinny jeans. My only fear is that they look better on smaller sized feet (making my size 9 look like boats), I’ll have to do some further investigation.
Are you feeling the Annie-Hall, menswear style of brogues?

I LOVE the brogue look– and I’m not convinced they make size 9 feet look like boats (though I may be biased wearing that size myself).
If you get the Steve Madden’s, let me know how they work– I ordered a similar pair a few months back, and I was so upset with how poor the quality, cut, and design were when I got them in person.

@Ashe: I’m a size 9 as well, making me a bit apprehensive. Sorry to hear about your poor experience with Steve M., I think I’m leaning more towards the Topshop ones anyway!

@Smilinggreenmom: No problem! I’ll have to try the foot cream, but in the mean time, flats it will be for long walks
