Get the Boot

22 Aug

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Fall is coming faster than a porn star on a Saturday night. And that means upgrading your summer wardrobe, or as I like to call, “winterizing” my summer staples. This mostly consists of adding tights and cardigans to dresses and wearing tights with sandals.

However, one thing that “winterizing” won’t allow for is the absence of the Fall bootie, shoetie, peep-toe boot, whatever you want to call it. The ankle boot has gone through an evolution of sorts and has recently settled on the right ankle height and peep-toe style, which gives it versatility and an added edge. However, this is a thoughtful blog (ha!) and I have to ask the question that has been on everyone’s mind. (Or maybe just mine)

“How does a boot with a peep-toe actually function as a boot? Doesn’t having your toes out defeat the purpose of wearing a boot? Do we really even care?”

Don’t get me wrong, I’m seriously coveting Fall’s peep-toe boots, they’re stylish without being overly trendy. They’re edgy and come in endless variations and to top it of they carry the wearer through the seasons. But I must wonder is a peep-toe on a boot is utterly useless. Anywho, the “shootie” is definitely an item I’ll be acquiring. I mean a shoe that has me this stumped definitely belongs in my entourage.

Here is a little graphic to brighten your day:
